La Borgata

           La Borgata, Scottsdale, Dec. 2011

Upscale boutiques in an Italian setting.

Photobucket

For me personally it’s a place which never took off. An unpretentious little coffee shop in the courtyard for example would be more than welcome.
Nice restaurants around though.

A + :))

The architecture of La Borgota has been inspired by San Gimignano, a town in Tuscany.

I like it all, except the pink Christmas trees....

This place has changed so much over the years. I think I liked it best when it first opened. It was like an old world fortress then.

It is a lovely courtyard. I agree, a cozy little coffee shop would do very well there. Wow, those pink Christmas trees really stand out!

I like the architecture but I agree with you. And generally it's much too expensive for me.

It could use a Noble Coffee!

Bizarrement ça me fait penser à l'Espagne.

I used to love this shopping center when it had a wonderful bookstore.

Randy's right. There was a great Thai restaurant, a coffee shop and an ice-cream shop a long time ago, as well as a Farmer's Market and several affordable shops.
Then came too many other shopping centers, and the bad economy.
But it was busy then. Quite nice. And it's right next to the small but fabulous Kerr Center, a music haven, with a lovely auditorium, intimate setting and great chamber orchestra concerts, plays, small choruses, recitals and more. People would go from one to the other.

The Farmers' still exists on Fridays though I did not check. But I do remember too the ice cream place and the incredible Christmas shop.
Affordable shops? These I don't remember too well but I was a young mother at the time without much money to spend for the kind of things offered.

I don't remember the Christmas shop. I do love this wreath.

This looks like it really could have been a happening place. It is beautiful. I just love a courtyard setting.
Kind of sad when places like this fizzle out.

That courtyard is nice. Perhaps with the right stores it could come alive again. So are you all settled in?:)

It is beautiful there this time of year. Gosh, wish I read French!

Hi Thérèse. I can see the Tuscan influence. It makes a nice setting for photography! I like the reflection in the bottom photo.

P.S. I would love for you to commented in French. I can understand French pretty well when I read it but I want to learn more. It takes me a long time to write it, but I like to try when I have the time. My biggest problem is understanding French when it's spoken. :) Merci!
