Chandler, Tumbleweed Park, 2009

Because of the camera’s lens, I usually avoid taking pictures of birds … except for chickens perhaps.

Mesa, 2007, on Center & Main Street

This Art Center, which opened in 2005, was designed by a team of two architecture firms: Boora (Portland, Or) and DWL (Phoenix, Az) and Planners of Phoenix.
During the day it’s a place to gather with friends, listen to free performances or eat lunch. At night same thing plus the pleasure of lights and shadows and performances inside
.

Mesa, 2009

On Saturday night Joan Baez was performing at the Mesa Arts Center and yes she sang “The night they drove Old Dixie down.”
What a lady! What a voice and how exciting it was.

Joan Baez était, samedi soir, au Centre d’Art de Mesa et oui elle a chanté “The night they drove Old Dixie down.”
Quelle grande dame! Quelle voix et quelle émotion.

I Am A Wanderer (2008)

…I am a wanderer, feet on the ground,

Heart on my sleeve and my head in the clouds.

I own the star above some distant shore,

Wandering ever more.

Written by Steve Earle

Honest Lullaby (1979)

And often have I wondered

How the years and I survived

I had a mother who sang to me

An honest lullaby

Honey, you've got a mother who sings to you
Dances on the strings for you
Opens her heart and brings to you
An honest lullaby

Written by Joan Baez

*
Je me suis bien souvent demandée
...
Mon chéri, tu as une mère

The storm had run away. The man vanished, the canvas still there
Erase everything, start all over again?
But all this blue, all this green, what should I do?
The donkey came along and the lady started praying
All this blue, all this green. Oh god what should I do?
The goat came by bringing a smile on the lady’s face
All this blue, all this green
Let’s move along, the storm is coming back

Frank Lloyd Wright and Dr. A.J. Chandler meet in 1927 in Phoenix and become friends. Mr. Wright even spend two winters in Chandler with his architectural apprentices working on an utopian community called Broadacre City. Two years later he builds a house of its own: Taliesin West, north of Phoenix.
I’ll write about it one day…

"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you."
