On the way to the Camelview theater yesterday we were trying to remember which first movie we went to see there in the 80’s or beginning 90’s. It was probably “Cyrano de Bergerac” many more followed either there or at the Valley Art Theater in Tempe, on Mill. Two movie theaters specialized in art and independent films.

Great memories over the years.

En allant au cinéma “Camelview” hier soir on essayait de se souvenir du nom du premier film que nous y avions vu… à la fin des années 80 ou au début des années 90, probablement « Cyrano de Bergerac.» Beaucoup d’autres suivirent, là ou au Valley Art à Tempe sur Mill Avenue.

De bien bons souvenirs au fil des années.

« The artist » has to be recommended:

Homage to the silent black and white movie era: fame and decline of artists in a very short span of time. I especially liked all the little details like the mimics of Jean Dujardin.

A big plus: can you imagine an hour an a half without the sound of popcorn chewing?

A movie to be seen again.

Une recommendation: allez voir “L’artiste” si vous ne l’avez pas encore vu.

Un hommage à la période du cinéma muet, en noir et blanc : le succès et le déclin d’artistes sur une période assez courte de l’histoire du cinéma. J’ai particulièrement aimé les jeux de visage de Jean Dujardin.

Un grand plus : pouvez-vous imaginer une séance d’une heure et demie sans le son parasite de popcorn ?

Un film à revoir.
