Trick or Treat

175
Chandler,

Trick or treat, smell my feet.
Give me something good to eat.
If you don’t I don’t care
I’ll pull down your underwear!

Halloween

173
Downtown Chandler,

In fact Celts started Halloween two thousand years ago in Europe. The New Year started on November 1st and marked the beginning of a cold period when the ghosts of the dead were returning to earth. People, wearing animal costumes, were offering sacrifices to Celtic deities. Summer fires were extinguished and re-lit for protection during the coming winter. The Romans and Christianism influence made of Halloween what it is today and started in the States in the late 1800 when Celts migrated to the US.

For now I will dedicate her a picture in response to the one she chose on her blog so that our waters could join.
I will name 5 people but I am choosing not to contact them to let them know.

Just when I thought I could go to bed…

Olivier Evry Daily Photo is to be thanked for this award “Kreativ Blogger Award”

We have to tell six things which make us happy (cheerful)

- to be alive and to be able to make a difference
- to be close geographically to each member of my own family (my family nucleus)
- to be able to communicate with the ones I appreciate, the ones close by or far away
- to read
- to laugh
- to have a camera (a working one) close at hand

And to chose six blogs:

A difficult choice because I don’t always leave comments on the blogs I like by lack of time. So I will name six blogs but I am choosing not to contact them to let them know.
If you don’t know them yet go and discover them.

Mother Nature Farm (2/2)

170
Gilbert,

Let the pumpkin roll for the back not to get hurt. Years of practice I suppose, the pumpkin sale has been going for over 14 years.
But it’s hot, so says the hat.

Mother Nature Farm (1/2)

Gilbert,

At Halloween there are thousands of pumpkins (from 1 ounce to 500 pounds), gourds and squash growned by the Kelsall Family in Duncan, AZ. to choose from.
This year there was no corn maze because the corn did not mature enough to create it.

Allergies - Toxins

Photobucket
Phoenix or is it somewhere else?

Sometimes even friends don’t know that you « have» a blog or perhaps your friends did not fully grasp it when you discretely, sneakily, mentioned you had one.
And then one day for one reason or the other…
A friend of mine is going to discover it this very day and I am hoping she will laugh when looking at today’s picture!

And our friends are all aboard,
Many more of them live next door,
And the band begins to play.

We all live in a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine, yellow submarine,
We all live a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine, yellow submarine.

Day of Play (1/3)

164 2

Chandler,

Twice a year families are invited to come and play: running, walking (5K & 10K), jump roping, playing on bouncies, racing in potato bags… and the children compete for prizes.
The finale: a firework!

Meet our Mayor Boyd W. Dunn who came to encourage participants and deliver the awarded prizes presented by the Coyotes Athletic Centers.
Mayor Dunn just won re-election to his fourth term ending in 2010.

Native Art

160

Chandler,

So nice! The annual Chandler Native American Indian Market took place downtown over the weekend. Not many artists on Sunday but the ones present were between the finest. Among them Virgil J. Nez, a Navajo artist who studied in Arizona, received numerous prizes for oil and watercolor paintings as well as for pastel drawings.
Virgil Nez comes from Northeast Arizona. The importance of balance and harmony with nature, which is of great importance among the Navajo people, shows into his art.
The miniatures you can see on the left side of the picture are done with a mix media -watercolor, gouache, acrylic and egg tempera.

Fort sympathique!

Chandler, Germann & McQueen

It’s a two and a half acre of playground where parents and kids come and play: Farm Land, City Land, Critter Land, swings, benches…
Today I tried to say my alphabet in German and could not at first remember a couple of letters… you can practice too.
